Meet your Monterey Peninsula tour guide, Monica Hudson,
owner and tour coordinator for California Legacy Tours

Monica is a teacher and professional interpreter, with a 20 year California State Park career behind her.  She is passionate about the Monterey Bay area and loves to share her vast knowledge with people of all ages from near and far. A multilingual world traveler herself she knows that your time is valuable and will help you make the most of it while you are here.

Monica can create that special tour for you, your family, or your client. She has a talent for coordinating details and will make absolutely sure you get the most out of your stay. Monica Hudson, was born and raised in Switzerland and moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1972. Her teaching degree, State Park experience, natural curiosity and passion for historic research make her an ideal tour guide. She is the published author of two books*, a history of the unique village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, the other of Point Lobos, that "spectacular meeting of land and water" which has been her home for the last 40 years.

Monica, who is also an avid gardener, also has an in-depth knowledge of early California history and is a sought-after speaker to the local Heritage Societies, Docent organizations, schools and civic organizations. She is an authority on the life and works of Robert Louis Stevenson, giving regular lectures for the Road Scholar program. Her many local connections enrich her guests experience and offer them a feeling of being part of this fabulous Monterey Peninsula. You will love her easy storytelling style and come away with a wealth of local history and a new appreciation of the magic this magnificent area holds.
